How to use
- Drop a PNG of at least 1024×1024 into the box, or click to choose a file.
- Check the platforms you need: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android. Open “Size list” to see each size.
- Click “Generate preview” to check how the icon looks at each size.
- Click “Download (ZIP)”. Drag AppIcon.appiconset into Assets.xcassets in Xcode, and copy the mipmap folders into app/src/main/res on Android.
Every app store and device family asks for its own set of icon sizes, and exporting them one by one from a design tool is slow and easy to get wrong. This app icon generator takes a single square PNG of at least 1024×1024 pixels and produces the whole set in one zip: 9 iPhone sizes, 10 iPad sizes, 10 macOS sizes, 11 Apple Watch sizes and 6 Android sizes, from the 1024 px App Store icon down to the 16 px Mac icon.
Apple icons are written to AppIcon.appiconset together with a Contents.json that lists filename, idiom, scale and size for each image, so Xcode recognizes the set when you drop it into Assets.xcassets. Android icons go into mipmap-mdpi (48 px), hdpi (72 px), xhdpi (96 px), xxhdpi (144 px) and xxxhdpi (192 px) as ic_launcher.png, plus a 512 px ic_launcher-playstore.png for Google Play. Images are scaled down in halving steps with high-quality smoothing to reduce jagged edges at small sizes.
Things to know: only PNG is accepted, and a non-square image is stretched to fill each square, so crop it first. Only macOS icons get a rounded shape (artwork in the center 80% with a 22.37% corner radius on a transparent background); iPhone, iPad, Watch and Android files stay square. Android adaptive icons with separate foreground and background layers are not generated. Everything runs in your browser — the image is never uploaded or stored.
